Shout, shout!
'Let it all out!'
I'm sure you all recognise Tears for Fears 1985 paean to the benefits of primal scream therapy in which patients are encouraged to reach deep into their emotional core and howl out raw, primal feeling. My favourite line though is the next one...
'These are the things I can do without'
How terribly British. 'Years of hideous sexual abuse as child? I suppose I could do without that'.
Things move apace in uni world. I've received back my second marked assignment which came in at 65%. An improvement over the previous the assignment's 59% but I'm a lot less confident about the third assignment, which went in on Friday. I've moved on from the first term and 'Reputations' onto 'Tradition and Dissent'. I've done Plato, poetry, the Reformation and now Shostakovich. Bit of a mixed bag.
Term 2 of Japanese starts at the end of this month but post-xmas skintedness means I can't afford to pay for it so my flirtation with the language has hit a roadblock.
I received written confirmation of my the award of my 5 credit points from Cambridge Uni and I've sent off a form to get them transferred onto my degree. The weekend before Christmas I attended another course there on Classical depictions of the underworld worth another 5 points.
Tuesday 20th January has been provisionally booked as the date for the first game of Warhammer. It's also George W Bush's last day in office so what better way to send him off than with some mindless violence.
Saw 'The Spirit' today, what a mess. It's mildly entertaining and has Scarlett Johansson in a nazi uniform but the film is all over the place. It seems thrown together and can't decide if it's a comedy or not.
